|Title||Captured German V-1 Torpedo on Display, 1949|
|Description||Several men stand on a trailer examining a German torpedo. One man is in uniform, and another wears a letterman sweater. The torpedo bears a Nazi swastika insignia. In the Evening Outlook Newspaper an almost identical photo was captioned: " 'Suicide' Buzzbomb, captured Nazi V-1 flying torpedo, is on display today at UCLA's Army Day weapons exhibit. Maj, H. M. Volheim, Venice High School graduate on the UCLA military faculty, shows Bruin football star Gene 'Skip' Rowland pilot's cockpit. The German Army didn't have time to send this model, powered by a pulse-jet engine, across the English Channel before V-E Day." The Pacific Press Photos caption note describes Rowland as a "football and baseball star, and past Cadet."|
