Title Postmaster Hill Performs Inspection of Postal Clerks, 1948
Date 1948/02/18
Description A group picture of the clerks at the Santa Monica Post Office. The attached article says "Postmaster Philip T. Hill yesterday afternoon conducted an official inspection of Santa Monica postal clerks and carriers, noting that his staff of approximately 100 clerks...and 100 carriers...now stands at an all-time high. Accompanied by Assistant Postmaster Victor P. Mason; Michael F. Houlihan, superintendent of mails; Albert Sears, assistant superintendent, and other members of the supervisoral staff, Hill checked the entire personnel of the office and said he was 'proud of both groups.' The office hopes to iron out the last wartime kinks in its civil service ratings within the next six months."
