Title Workers Attempt to Raise Sunken Harbor Dredger Anita, 1942
Date 1942/04/30
Description Workers attempt to raise the sunken harbor dredger Anita. The attched newspaper clipping states: "For a time yesterday it appeared that efforts to raise the sunken dredge Anita would be successful, one end having lifted after extensive pumping by the Smith Brothers Boat works [sic], which holds the contract to purchase the dredge from the city 'as is,' in the bottom of the pool at the harbor. Today, however, the barge had relapsed with a gentle gurgle to the bottom of the pool. The photo shows it at yesterday's 'high.'"
